Advice that carries through to operation.

Zendale consultants working through a healthcare strategy session

Zendale Consulting is the healthcare consulting and institutional-development arm of Zendale Limited.

We work with hospital owners, healthcare institutions, investors, corporate organisations and development partners on the decisions that determine whether a healthcare service can be delivered well and sustained.

Our consultants combine healthcare strategy, hospital planning, operational management, medical technology and procurement expertise in a single team. That combination matters, because most institutional problems sit between disciplines: a service plan the building cannot support, equipment the maintenance budget cannot keep running, a system the workflow was never designed around.

About the firm

The institutional challenge

Institutions rarely fail on ambition.

They lose ground in the spaces between disciplines, where planning, operations, technology and procurement decisions are made separately and meet only when they conflict.

Fragmented planning

Clinical, facility, equipment and financial planning are carried out separately, and only meet when a decision has become irreversible.

Operating systems that were never designed

Processes have accumulated rather than been designed, so responsibility for handovers, escalation and follow-up sits with individuals rather than the institution.

Equipment decisions made in isolation

Technology is selected without matching infrastructure, consumable supply, technical skills or a funded maintenance regime, and capacity is lost to downtime.

Procurement without structure

Specifications, evaluation and contracting lack a consistent framework, which weakens both value for money and the ability to demonstrate transparency.

Patient journeys with avoidable friction

Waiting, repetition and rework accumulate at the points where departments meet, and are visible to patients long before they are visible in reports.

Limited implementation capacity

Plans are approved but delivery competes with daily clinical demand, and no one carries the mandate or the time to drive it through.

Improvements that do not hold

Change is achieved during a project and decays afterwards because ownership, measurement and management routines were not transferred.

Hospital operations in progress across a working department

These problems can be solved by working across the disciplines together.

Acquisitions, turnaround and growth

Considering the future of your healthcare business?

Whether you are planning to sell, acquire, revive or expand a healthcare business, Zendale Consulting provides confidential advisory and implementation support from initial assessment to long-term transformation.

  • Owners considering a sale

Readiness assessment, documentation and buyer engagement.

  • Investors and buyers

Commercial, operational, facility and equipment due diligence.

  • Businesses in difficulty

    Turnaround assessment, restructuring and implementation.

  • Institutions growing

Expansion, partnerships, integration and investment readiness.

Our approach

Six stages, run in order.

We do not stop at recommendations. The later stages exist because implementation, capability transfer and measurement are where institutional change is actually won or lost.

How we work

Assessment before recommendation

  1. Understand

    Discovery and stakeholder alignment

Establish what the institution is trying to achieve, who must agree, and what has already been decided.

  2. Assess

    Assessment and evidence gathering

Replace assumption with evidence about how the institution currently performs.

  3. Design

    Strategy and solution design

Develop options and design the chosen solution in enough detail to be costed and delivered.

  4. Implement

    Implementation planning

Convert the design into a sequenced, resourced and owned delivery plan.

  5. Strengthen

    Delivery and change management

Support delivery in practice and build the internal capability to run the change.

  6. Sustain

    Measurement, strengthening and sustainability

Confirm that the change holds and that the institution can maintain it without us.

Who we support

Organisations accountable for healthcare delivery.

Different mandates, different constraints, and one shared requirement: decisions that hold up once they meet operating reality.

Owners, boards, investors, funders and clinical leaders each bring a different question.

Who we support

Featured healthcare transformation

Strengthening primary healthcare delivery at Ikosi Ketu.

Through a public-private partnership with the local government, Lifecentre Medical Diagnostics, part of the Zendale group, supports diagnostic services at Ikosi Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre in Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos.

Patients who previously left the centre for routine investigation can now be seen and investigated in the same visit. Our public–private partnership advisory practice is built on this experience: structuring arrangements where each side carries what it is genuinely able to carry.

  • Public–private partnership with local government
  • Diagnostic service delivery on site
  • Equipment, maintenance and quality assurance
  • Revenue-sharing model that sustains operation
